I have actually been drawing quite a bit of new designs... but I somehow stopped photographing them.. so if you own a pair.. well, when the shoe "dies" that may really just be it :P :\

here are sneak previews of what you can expect in perhaps the next month or so at Friends@HajiLane. There will be no remakes of this design.. so at the moment I'm thinking of capping it to two pairs.. but I may consider doing 1-2 pairs more, depending on inspiration :P

I just stocked in 5 pairs @friends @hajilane today :)
All new designs, except for one - a remake of *Grafik B&W but with men's shoes! :D

Stella, the boss of friends, has been very nice to work with but I'm seriously considering taking a long break again soon and perhaps selling only at bazaars since I really don't like to repeat designs on demand and I want that creative freedom to draw what I want to draw... So, perhaps selling in an actual shop may not be the best option for someone like me :\

So, more when I think through things a bit more conclusively :)
Not too soon tho, so nothing to worry about yet.

In the if-i-may-say gorgeous *Grafik series, is this new, versatile funky pair. Something that has the versatility as *Grafik brown but with more puNCH. The lines and texturing on this pair give it added character. Perfect with jeans.

*Doilies B&W

Neat little doily-inspired motifs dance around this pair. Schizophrenic? In that it seems to exude a myraid of personalities - from simple-sweet to boho-liberal to sexy-exotic.

I don't really have a specific design in mind.. so unleash your creativity! something quirky/cute would be great coz i'm actually planning to wear the shoes when i go into the hospitals (i'm a med student) for my pre clinicals and subsequently, clinicals. haha it would be nice to look down at my feet after getting a scolding from a nurse or senior doctor and be immediately cheered up! haha! i'm a size 7... uhh.. about myself...umm... haha.. positive, sporty, somewhat.. eccentric? haha... if it helps, my fav movie is little miss sunshine and love actually (so yeah i guess i'm a bit of a romantic! >.<) haha.

Dear all,

Thank you all for your kind support and orders (:
I've been rather occupied/tied down with stuff and have successfully created a backlog of orders which are haunting me. As such, I will not be taking new customisation orders till further notice. (Wont be too long, promise).

While I love customising shoes, I also have numerous ideas I have which I want to materialise but have not really had the chance to. So do bear with me and allow me a bit of a breather here...

*Buttons, Size 8

While toying with the idea of sewing buttons on shoes, I realized I have the option of drawing them on! Drawn buttons make the pair more wearable while giving the pair a more graphic feel. Plus, this way, I can have any button design I want :D. The button designs on this pair are vintage-inspired.

I'm proud of this pair and I hope you guys like this pair too! :)

1) *Grafik (rby), Size 6

Mod-Classic : that would be my word to describe this pair. The dancing Red-Blue-Yellow strips on this pair bring it to life. An amazing pair that puts one in the limelight. One of my personal favourites :D

2) *Grafik (brown), Size 7

A variation of *grafik (rby). A ‘formal-proper’ feel with a grafik edge. This brown pair has subtle golden streaks that add to the textured look of the shoe.

3) Peacock (B&W), Size 6

Peacock inspired. Classic B&W. If I may say, a rather paradoxical pair - there is a certain girly-softness to this pair and yet it also characterizes mod-grunge edginess.

This is my first male shoe design (:

Made is as a gift for a friend. Was quite a challenge as I like doing weird things but this friend has a very quiet, calm personality... not at all volatile and psychotic like me. lol :P.

Made this for his birthday. He had to work for it though. LOL. He helped me get a fresh batch of shoes to design on.

I've been a bit busy, "away" from my designing for the past two weeks. When I stop, it tends to be a bit hard for me to get going again. But when I do, I find myself loving it. I do like creating new designs and putting ideas into reality...

This was my attempt to make something that would not be too out-of-this-world, something I hope he would be comfortable wearing, yet something unique and fashionable (Again, I hope :P) Angles/perspectives and tones were used to bring more dimension into the shoes.. Colour was picked based on what I know of his wardrobe.

Do let me know your thoughts on this pair, if any (:

I love traditional architecture – bricks, wood and tiled roofs. A friend said the style is very ‘shabby sheek’ and I like that description! This design is currently on the feet of the creator of shoedeedoo. A personal favourite!

Bright happy umbrellas with intertwined with monotone pastel umbrella for a balance in colour, contrast and feel. The asymmetry is brought to an extreme with the left shoe being mainly left white in the front - except for a gold paisley print umbrella. My interpretation? Amidst the crowd, let's embrace our individuality and uniqueness (: Quirky, fun, happy with a subtle edge to it.

This pair was ordered all the way back in early August! Thanks Choon May for being patient with me. I appreciate the patience and the creative freedom you gave me ;)

Stencils are fabulous things to work with.
But tricky when you have a soft uneven surface!

It's official!

shoedeedoo's creations are now on display and for sale at Friends @ Haji Lane.

It's a delightful shop! With much good finds, good gift ideas and simply downright gorgeous stuff. The shop owners Stella is friendly, helpful and has a passion for all things handmade. The shop is filled with good finds and "loves" but as I always try to keep a tight rein on my finances I've yet to really buy anything. Yes, yet. lol.

Among some of the 'lovelies' they have there are:

1) Hand made accessories. The cutesy type - think sweet icing sugar-ed earrings and necklaces ;) to cute cartoon-y ones. The vintage type - think old school lock and keys which we almost never find now. The mod funky type - think gorgeous shiny handmade rings made with crystals and bronze wires for the rustic touch.

2) PICOBABY! - gorgeous robot accessories that are made of electronic components. I kid you not. Gorgeous, cute, simply delightful. I swear having one of those around your neck just perks you up. (Yes, lol, this is the exact thing I'm eyeing!). Visit Friends to find out more about the history/background of these delectable items - it's quite meaningful if I remember right, these babies are made by former-ly jobless women and each robot is unique and different :D. In this world of mass production, isn't it great we can still find treasures like this?

3) Musical box thingamajigees - you know, you know, the mechanic contraption that are in musical boxes. Not the modern automatic digital sounding stuff. No, no, no. This is the one you manually rotate a lil lever to see how the metal bits hit each other to play you a gorgeous song. It's a really sweet present. And, it actually can be pretty funny too cos you can vary the speed of your rotation to get a funny mix. lol. Ok, yes, I'm quite weird and find silly things amusing.

4) Tea Bags! - Tea bags? You say. What's so great about that? Ah, this ain't your ordinary tea bag! These are teabags with funky messages on each teabag. A really cute concept and I think a meaningful, sweet personalised (well, rather anyway ;P) gift for someone who might potentially be going through a rough patch. The packs are themed and have appropriate messages. Ranging from Birthday Packs to Get-Well-Soon Packs.

5) SHOES! - My shoes. Go visit and support me. Please? *bambi eyes* lol. There are other shoes too. But let's not get distracted. Focus now, focus. SHOEDEEDOO's shoes ^_^. Lol. Kidding. At the moment, I'm their only shoe 'artist' (if I dare call myself that. With quotation marks k. So don't send me hate mail to tell me I'm not :P) but they told me that there will be another one soon (: So do go and take a look. And this time since shoedeedoo has *landed* it will be easier for you to try on the shoes to get the right sizes... and if you are anything like me, you prefer shopping in a shop rather than online - that was you get to use more of your senses while choosing your shoe (: . Dear all,

The bazaar was a success. Thank you all for coming down and supporting the event. It was really fun meeting all the various people who were so kind as to buy what we were selling - plates, books, air fresheners to support the cause!

It was also so heart-warming for me seeing so many people come to offer their help and goods for the bazaar (: I had the opportunity to watch many of my peers step out and do wonderful things. Like dear Eugene and Darren! Putting on that purple suit and bringing cheer to both the young and the old (like me!!) ahhahaha :D Sorry I didn't pay for a photo :S but it was really so so so sweet watching you all bring smiles to the kids (:

To my dear CG as well, thank you for your grace and kindness to me despite my well, um, misbehaviour. I enjoyed working with you all.. especially touched by Dawn's sweetness - so thanks girl! :)

Another pair that I think is versatile in the sense that it would look sweet with a dress and cool with jeans. I'm not so sure I "prescribe" any of my shoes for wearing with slacks though! Hahahah! I think the material of the shoe pretty much makes it a casual-wear shoe.

Floral02 is eye-catching, sweet and with attitude.

Yes! shoedeedoo's shoes will be on sale at a charity bazaar (all profits will be channelled to a charitable cause).

This pair was crafted for the girl who was supposed to receive Floral01 (which was a size to big for her! :P)

The flowers are in soft shades of pink and purple, the leaves are a faded minty green.

This sweet-to-bits pair ended up giving me a "cheongsam" feel hence the name 'ModernChinese'. Tradition with a fresh young look.

I hope she likes it! *fingers crossed*

Btw, feedback is welcome. Positive ones more welcome than negative ones =p HAHAHAHA!

Pastel Flowers

Pastel [pa-stel; especially Brit. pas-tl] –noun

a color having a soft, subdued shade.

A sweet pair with soft, fresh, clean colours. Or if left to me, I would describe it as marshmellow colours! ^.^ This one was made with the following directives: pastel, pinks, a merge between Dandelions and Floral01. I think it turned out more of a merge between Lilies and Floral01. But, the 'softness' of this pair does bring to mind Dandelions.

And the end product is as shown (: Lilies embedded in a background of reds and purples. I think it's a great combination. So, thanks! to the customer for suggesting it :D I had fun making this pair.

I have previously made a similar green pair, which has already been sold. (I do variations of the same design and might start making shoes in sets - i.e. same theme per set of different sizes (: to cater to people who might like the same design but still want something unique)

1) Can my shoes be washed?
Absolutely! (: All designs are drawn/painted on using fabric marker/paints and hence, can be washed. The colours/drawings might fade with repeated/vigourous washing - so be gentle and try to keep them clean.

2) Care Tip (I've not tried it yet, but do let me know if it works for you? Thanks!)
Make a diluted starch solution (cornflour and hot water), brush lightly on your shoes using a broad brush. This should help retain shape of the shoe as well prevent colour fading. Other than that, it actually makes washing the shoes much easier (:

3) I have a design I would like to put on a pair of shoes, does shoedeedoo do personalized designs?
Yes! shoedeedoo does. But this would depend on the artist's availability to work on the project and time in which you would like the shoe done. For more details, please email shoedeedoo@gmail.com . You can also give your feedback on this matter to Stella or Levian at Concept Story @ Haji Lane

4) I like design X but shoedeedoo does not have it in my size. Can I request for it to be done in my size?
At the moment, this would depend on (1) availability of the artist, (2) time given to complete the shoe, (3) how many shoes with similar designs have already been made/sold - this is to ensure that the shoes retain their uniqueness; that is, it will not be mass produced.

Also, please note that it is likely that while shoedeedoo might agree to make a similar design in your size - it will be 'similar', this means the artist will intentionally be making distinctive variations to the layout while retaining the theme/core of the design.

6) Does shoedeedoo design on other types of shoes - other than the ones featured here?
shoedeedoo is definitely looking into that! If you know of any places that sells shoes, that can be designed on, at affordable prices; do share that information with shoedeedoo by emailing shoedeedoo@gmail.com the details.

Hi all ^_^,

I'm Lisa, the girl behind this blogshop. I draw/paint on shoes as a hobby. I like creating new designs. I don't really like to repeat my designs/drawings, so while you may find similar ones, it is unlikely that you will find a repetition of the same design. I like doing variations of a design tho, so if you ask for a pair with the same design but say with a different colour scheme -i'll be more than happy to do it up for you (warning* patience is required for customised orders).

If you like shoes, do watch this space. You might like to note, I tend to do more simplistic designs - as in not too many colours/gradients (simple, is elegant ;)) Also, I like to work with symmetry, so my designs will often involve unifying patterns but asymmetrical designs.
